DEPOK – In just a few days, schoolchildren will begin their school holidays. For residents of Depok and South Tangerang who haven’t made plans to travel out of town, why not visit The Park Sawangan?
During the school holiday period, MNC Licensing and MNC Pictures' beloved animated characters, Kiko and Friends, will be greeting fans in a special meet and greet event. The “Meet and Greet with Kiko and Friends” will take place from June 5 to 16, 2024.
Mall Manager of The Park Sawangan, Indah M Soeryadiredja, said that they have prepared several programs to welcome the school holiday. “To celebrate the school holiday this time, we’re hosting two major events — the first is the meet and greet with Kiko and Friends, in collaboration with MNC Licensing and Ocean Ball, an attraction from one of our tenants. Of course, we also have XXI cinema, which will be screening many child-friendly holiday-themed movies,” Indah said during an interview with MNC Portal at The Park Sawangan on Saturday, June 8, 2024.
Indah expressed her enthusiasm for having Kiko and Friends enliven the school holidays. Kiko, she added, is a locally created animated character that has received many accolades. “We want to collaborate with works that are truly made in Indonesia, showcasing creativity and achievements both nationally and internationally. Kiko is a great fit and aligns with our target market,” she explained.
She also expressed hopes for continued collaboration with MNC Licensing for future programs. “There are still many opportunities for collaboration with MNC Licensing. One possibility is the character Entong, which we could feature during next year’s Ramadan preparations,” she added.
Fans and visitors at The Park Sawangan who are eager to meet, take photos with, and interact with Kiko & Friends can register at the Customer Service desk on the Ground Floor. Registration requires a minimum purchase of IDR 300,000 (on weekdays) or IDR 500,000 (on weekends) from any tenant within the mall, with receipts from the same day being eligible. Visitors will not only get a photo with the characters but will also receive one printed photo as a keepsake.
Other activities included in the “Meet & Greet with Kiko & Friends” event are a coloring competition and a photo contest. The coloring contest will be held on June 16, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM, for elementary students in grades 1 to 3. Meanwhile, the photo contest at the Kiko Shoe Photobooth runs from June 5 to 15, 2024.
Visitors can join the photo contest by uploading their photos to their personal Instagram accounts with the theme “Your Holiday Fun with Kiko, Lola, and Poli.” Don’t forget to use the hashtags #KIKOatTheParkSawangan, #KIKOAnimation, and #MNCLicensing, and tag the accounts @theparksawangan, @kiko.animation, and @mnclicensing_id. The contest ends on June 15 at 3:00 PM.
The winner with the most likes will be announced on June 15, 2024, at 7:00 PM via The Park Sawangan’s official Instagram account @theparksawangan. Both contests are free to join and offer exciting prizes, including Kiko merchandise, goodie bags, and cash prizes.
